What it is: A new foaming cleanser from the Vancouver-founded brand ILIA Beauty.

Formulated to “reset your skin,” the fragrance-free, pH-balanced foaming cleanser features ingredients such as plant-based surfactants, to gently cleanse skin, along with a hydrating sugar complex to help hydrate skin.

Billed as being suitable for normal to oily skin types, the cleanser promises to remove “makeup, mineral SPF and pollution” without stripping skin of its moisture. The product is also vegan and cruelty free.

What we say: Already a big fan of foam cleansers, our tester was interested to see if this formula would fall flat like some foam iterations seem to.

After dispensing a few pumps of the foam, she found it stayed light and airy in her hand, allowing for the foaming cleanser to be applied smoothly onto skin. The scent-free cleanser was perfect for our tester’s double-cleansing routine, she reports. Overall, it’s gentle yet effective, she says.

It effectively removed the day’s dirt and makeup without stripping skin, and rinsed away leaving a smooth, clean feel. Whether used on its own or as part of a two-step cleansing routine with another cleanser, our tester has subbed this foaming cleanser into her daily rotation.

Where to get it: Sephora, iliabeauty.com

What it will cost you: $42.
